Blouses

The women's blouse is different from the current fashion top because of buttons. Women's fashion blouses have some kind of closing device; buttons, snaps, even a zippered top is considered a blouse by definition.

When most women think about the blouse and fashion, they think of the white, billowy blouse, made from gauze or cotton. Women's tops are also made from this fabric, can be long or short sleeved, but again, do not have buttons or other fasteners.

Sleeveless women's blouses are typically made from silk or other light fabric and are a very popular fashion right now. The spring /summer collections sport blouses that are short or sleeveless and hang loosely around the waist; perfect for every body type. Today's styles rekindle the elegance of women's tops and lady like fashions of yesteryear. Women's fashions have returned to the flowing gauze and feminine side.

For the workplace, bow-tie women's blouses are all the rage. This reflects the feminine fashions once again, and the grown up blouse is back; long sleeve, typically white or cream, and very elegant. Beige long sleeve button down with a scarf attached at the neck is also back in. This makes it easier for women to choose what jewellery they will wear with the outfit that day, choosing a nice brooch to wear on the lapel of the jacket looks very business-like instead of a necklace, as the loose tie at the neck of the blouse takes away the need for pendants. The women's fashion shirt - also button down - is available with matching sacks or skirt for a conservative, businesslike look, only with ruffles and lace for the business women's wardrobe.

Quarter sleeve blouses will always be in style. The length of the sleeve and cut of the bodice make these blouses easy to wear and keep the sleeve cuff off of the wrist, making moving your arm more versatile. They can be worn with a blazer and the tendency to push up your sleeves will not inhibit the hang of the jacket due to bunched up sleeves. Feminine fashion is back!
