Women's bra fashions have come and gone, but there are two classics which will be around forever:
1. The push up bra and
2. The strapless.
Women took to wearing bras for one of two main practical reasons, neither related to fashion: either they wanted to keep their breasts from sagging in their later years, or they wanted to make them look bigger. It sure wasn't for comfort, although those with more ample charms may have obtained a measure of relief from a well-fitting bra. However, today’s fashion plasters beautiful bras and lingerie everywhere, and beautiful fashion bras have become another must-have accessory.
When Playtex came out with the eighteen hour women's bra, women's fashion changed for the better. Bras were tight and uncomfortable, and the eighteen hour bra came out just as women were returning to the workforce and two income families were becoming a necessity – it was designed to be wearable for 18 hours!
The under wire bra is a timeless fashion classic, but can be uncomfortable to wear if chosen badly. Designed so that women will have both support and comfort, these bras tend to push through the fabric at the edge of the cup if cheap bras are chosen, and can dig into the side of the breast. While they provide excellent support and help hold the cut of the latest blouse fashion, be sure to not skimp on the price, they need to have reinforced side so that the wire won't poke through, even after months of wearing the latest women's fashions.
The gel strap fashion bra has wide straps at the top of the shoulder, and this is a great idea so that the straps don't fall down. No woman likes to be pulling up the straps on her bra during a big date, and women's fashion dictates that you do wear a bra most times nowadays – even under very skimpy tops. As an added bonus, these gel straps are available on the front closing women's bras, which have the hooks at the base of the cup, and are easier to put on and take off.
The sports bra is very popular as well for athletic woman's fashion. This bra looks more like a tight tube top, and the cups are designed to hold the breast close to the ribcage, so you don't bounce while you are playing sports or running. Large breasted women can now run alongside everyone else. The manufacturer calls these the ''ban the bounce" bras. They are so popular and look so much like a short top that it is now part of fashion to wear them with a blouse unbuttoned. They look great under t shirts and fashionable under skimpy tops for a modern look.
The bra is no longer a purely support function, it’s a fashion accessory. Largely overlooked by many women, it can pretty up your wardrobe and add comfort and style. A good bra can enhance the fit of your other clothes!
