Levi and Wrangler still make up the number one fashion designers of men's jeans.
From the original work clothes of the forties to the teenager Levis craze in the fifties to the bell bottoms of the sixties, men's fashion jeans are still the sexy tight cuts that they've always been. The newest craze needs to be mentioned here as this is the ultimate new style in men's jeans-the ipod jeans. Made from denim and manufactured by Levis, these jeans come with a sewn in dock for the popular music containment system, the ipod.
Originally worn by miners and cowboys, men's jeans have morphed into designer fashions that have thirteen distinct cuts. Styles come and go, but it seems as though every type of cut comes back. Men's fashion ankle cut jeans are tight at the foot, and the style dictates that one must put on their socks first; least you can't get the legs all the way down. Popular during the eighties, this cut was on the runways this year for the upcoming collections from Calvin Kline. Loose or Baggy fitting jeans-very loose, as a matter of fact-were the style for clubbing and hanging out and are still in; the fashions seem to be getting longer inseams every year.
Straight cut and boot cut men's jeans are very popular, and reflect the original style manufactured by Levis in the early years. Slim cut and bell bottom flare is on the way out, and here I should mention that most often the style does not go out in jeans, but the colour does. Black and blue continue to reign, while the acid wash look and coloured jeans of the eighties are gone (thank goodness.) Carpenter men's fashion jean cuts are back on the runways, and here is where the inspiration for the ipod holder came from. Classic and original cuts are exactly what the names imply, and this fashion isn't going anywhere, ever.
