Men's polo shirts are a fashion style in which the design is long or short sleeve, and do not button or fasten at the front.
Polo shirts are pull over and can be worn for casual or formal attire, depending on the accessories. Men's fashions are very forgiving.
Wear a long sleeve polo shirt with a light weight blazer for a date or to the more casual office setting. Long sleeve pull over polo's with a short sleeved t-shirt over them are good for any weather, as you can remove the t-shirt if it gets warm, but the tightness of the polo allows for wear in inclimate weather as well. Women find this fashion to be very sexy, as you look like a casual guy who can haul in wood if needed.
Short sleeve polo's are the common polo shirt in men's fashion, but by definition polo is any shirt except a t-shirt or tank top which does not fasten, as they usually are constructed from a knit fabric and have short collars. They are typically worn for sports such as golf or tennis, and other casual sporting events. They are considered a "weekend" fashion shirt by the more conservative buyer. Cotton jersey blends are the most common, and the overall style doesn't change much, which means having three or four in your wardrobe of different colours means you will never have to worry that the one you are wearing is out of style.
Ralph Lauren, Fred perry – these are names we know but also further afield we find Great Republic, Chestnut Hill, and Harriton are the leading manufacturers of polo fashion shirts today. This means that the styles are the same; it's just the brand name that will go in and out of style as the years wear on. But seriously, how many guys look at the tag on the back of your polo shirt to see if you are wearing the current manufacturer of men's fashion?
