Men's tops range from polo style to button down dress shirts for work wear.
But what most men think of when it comes to tops is the versatile tank top. Good for casual wear, the tank top is still the most popular men's fashion for the casual top. The tank top comes in various colours, but the style doesn't change much. They are sleeveless and light weight.
Casual fashion polo shirts can be worn with khakis for a date, the park, or family outings and the classic button down is still the first choice for conservative office wear. The t-shirt or short sleeve cotton shirt is now worn either alone or with a blazer for the "casual formal'' look made popular by television and other media celebrities.
Once either black or darker coloured and made from cotton or a cotton/polyester or rayon blend, men's fashion tops are now linen and colourful for the spring/summer collection. While warmer weather shirts were some colours in the past, now they are popular in the pastel and washed out colours of the Mediterranean set. These tops are meant to be worn with everything save for very formal occasions, when basic dark colours are preferred. Basic white or blue is still good for office wear, and no iron is the first choice for men who don't like to put a lot of effort into their wardrobe.
As long as men's tops continue to be easy to clean and fun to wear, the styles will continue to reflect the fashions of the seasons. T-shirts will always be the number one choice for men at home or at play, as long as they are clean, guys tend to think they've just dressed up for the occasion. Fabrics with the least amount of care needed are always a good choice when buying tops for your guy.
