The Playboy logo is the most widely recognised fashion logo in the world.

The bunny head and bowtie is featured on the breast pocket of the t-shirts, the faces of the wristwatches, handbags, and every other playboy item in stock. Playboy jewellery, shower curtains, bedroom accessories, and clothing are just some of the items that this big name brand designer has and they fit in with any season. You can even buy music players which feature the famous bunny on the lid.

We all know that Hugh Hefner is not a fashion designer, nor would he want to be. Other than the new line of bunny costumes for the hostesses at the club, he has little to do with the clothing line or accessories that hit the market.

The logo stands for alluring, fun fashion clothing and accessories. Denouncers of the company and subsequently the logo insist it is demeaning to women, but most women don't think of it that way. To them, the fashion designer brand name simply means that they like to wear fun clothing. It is an expression of freedom and has been since the logo first appeared as the playboy bunny outfits worn by the waitresses at the famous club back in 1964.

Hugh Hefner launched the first playboy back in December of 1953. There was no date on the cover and Hugh didn't put his name anywhere on it, just in case it failed. The exact opposite happened and now the playboy name is known world wide. The bunny head logo appeared in the second issue and took art designer Art Paul all of a half an hour to draw it. Hugh wanted a bunny because it was fun, and put him in a tuxedo as a note of sophistication, the same connotations the bunny has today.
