Nothing states women's femininity in more than a skirt or dress. Hemlines are the big fashion question here, and despite whatever fashion might be in at the time, your body type should dictate which length is right for you.
Longer hemlines are back in for both skirts and dresses, although the shorter fashions are still readily available for those of you who work out regularly and want to show off your legs. Long light cotton dresses and skirts are an excellent fashion choice for any occasion, and your only consideration should be the fabric for the outing. The top cut for women's dresses should show off the bust without giving too much away, unless you are wearing a long dress for an evening out. Blouses and skirts are more popular for daytime activities, but if you're planning a night out on the town wear a long dress instead. Heavier cotton or light wool for evening wear, and lighter cotton or other fabrics are best for daytime wear in women's fashion.
The hemline should compliment your legs. Women with thinner legs and ankles can wear shorter hemlines, while plus size women look good in longer fashion hems. Short skirts with a gauzy blouse is in right now for women's fashion, and were a big hit on the runways of Milan for the upcoming spring/summer collections, however the dress is timeless, and both the skirt and the dress can't compete with the ones you still have in your closet from last year. Whatever hemline you choose to wear, the emphasis will be on the style of shoe and bag you choose to compliment your dress, not the dress its self.© UK Fashion.com 2006
