When buying fashion mules always try them on, as they are designed for the narrow footed woman s fashion. You may have to ask for a wide foot style. Your heel should stay well within the shoe, if your heel hangs over the shoe is too short and you will look silly and feel uncomfortable. Ill-fitting mules (or any fashion shoe) can cause you to stumble and twist your ankle due to the lack of support in the back, as well. The edges of the mule should cover most of the sole of your foot. Because women's shoes are designed more for fashion than for comfort, be sure to spend as much time as you need when trying them on.
