There are several main different styles of nightwear for women's fashion needs. The cut, style, and versatility of the women's nightwear will determine which type is right for you.

Nightdress

First there is the very traditional nightdress or nightgown. These are typically floor length, but some of the newer fashions have them stopping at the knee like a man’s nightshirt. They are made from flannel, silk, cotton, rayon, or fleece and are comfy and stylish. The problem with longer nightdresses is that they tend to ride up while you are sleeping, becoming bunched up under your stomach and can even cause you to lose sleep from the discomfort.

Robes

Robes are wickedly stylish and come in many different fashions. They are what the family and friends see when you open the door in the morning, and are big in women's fashion nightwear. They can have pockets, close with a belt or snaps, and be any length you like. Women tend to spend more on robes than they do on sleepwear because of this women's fashion trend.

Baby dolls

Baby dolls are the sexy nightwear that a woman wears when a guy stays over. They are typically open at the waist, and come with matching panties.
