There are so many styles of tops and blouses for women's fashion, it's very lucky to be able to shop and purchase one (or two!) of the current fashion to go with every outfit that you have. Here is a quick overview of all the different styles of women's tops and what they should be worn with:
Short sleeve tops
These can be button down or pull over, and are considered casual wear fashion. Women's tops range from t-shorts to tank tops to bust hugging button down tops were you can leave the top two buttons undone for a flirty change. The fabrics for this style of women's fashion tops are numerous, from light weight cotton for the t-shirts to metallic strapless tops for an evening at the clubs. Short sleeve tops can be worn with jeans, skirts, or slacks - and especially shorts for a summer fashion look. Strapless and tube tops are in this category.
Long sleeve women's tops
These are called long sleeve polo tops and are a pullover fashion. These do not have buttons because by definition that would make them blouses. Again, these can be made from any fabric and come in lots of new and different styles; the newest have beads or sequins running down the arms. They are a great addition to your skirts, or can be worn with jeans or slacks. Long sleeve pullovers also look good with various lengths of shorts in women's fashion for spring and summer evenings.
Long sleeve blouses
These are women's tops with buttons all the way from the neckline to the base of the shirt. Blouses are often made from lighter weight fabrics and look good with the new long hemlines seen in the spring/summer skirt collections. Print blouses should be worn with solid coloured shorts or skirts and especially jeans, but if you are wearing a flowered print skirt you want a solid blouse to go with it so your fashions do not clash.
